Our Story

Our two locations hold historical importance in our local community with our Queen Street campus being the original Yeppoon State Primary School, built in 1889.

The kindergarten began its incorporated association, taking up residence in 1964. In response to Yeppoon’s growing population, the Association commenced operating a second unit in 2003 at the original Yeppoon State School preschool site at Tucker Street. In 2008, a second classroom was built at the Queen Street campus, making Yeppoon and District Kindergarten one of the largest services of its kind in Queensland.

Originally affiliated with the Creche & Kindergarten Association of Queensland, Yeppoon and District Kindergarten elected Lady Gowrie Queensland to be our Central Governing Body (CGB) in 2013.
All community kindergarten services that receive funding support to deliver a kindergarten program are required by the Government to be members of an approved CGB and to meet specific requirements.
